I’m interested in exploring the blurring of media boundaries. In this series I develop the compositions digitally and then work with collaged, drawn and painted elements to realise the intent. The objects and surfaces are rendered and carefully placed, and as I layer paper, pencil and paint I like to think of the developing image as containing a spirit of the natural forms that are represented.

Spirit Lichens (WIP) A study in quietude: a still life with ‘stitched’ lichens, amber, water and stone.
Through the act of ‘stitching’ together images of lichens, amber, water and stone I am representing the spirit of these combined natural elements in a study of stillness.
